What curl types do you work with?

We welcome every curl pattern and texture, including:

• Wavy hair (2A, 2B, 2C) 

  loose bends to defined waves

• Curly hair (3A, 3B, 3C) defined springy curls to loose ringlets

• Coily hair (4A, 4B, 4C) tight coils to Z pattern curls. 

Not sure what your curl type is? Don’t panic, every head of curls has more than one curls pattern.  Your stylist will help you better understand your curls during your appointment.

We recommend booking a First Curly Haircut. This extended appointment gives us time to get to know you and your curls, including your hair history, current routine, concerns, and goals. Your stylist will create a personalized cut and teach you how to care for and style your curls with confidence at home.

All appointments are booked through our website. Roots is an appointment only salon, allowing each stylist to give every guest their full time and attention. Simply select your service, choose your stylist, and find a time that works best for you.

A consultation is included in every First Curly Haircut. Before beginning your service, your stylist will assess your curl pattern, listen to your concerns, discuss your hair history, and create a plan tailored to your needs.

Please arrive with your hair worn naturally, clean, conditioned, dry, and styled as you normally wear it. This allows your stylist to see your curl pattern and understand how your hair behaves in everyday life. Please avoid straightening your hair or wearing it pulled back before your appointment.

Yes. When you reserve an appointment, that time is set aside especially for you. We kindly ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment will incur a fee equal to 50% of the scheduled service total. We understand that emergencies happen and always appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible.
