Sara’s curly hair journey began at the renowned Ouidad flagship salon in New York City, where she worked behind the chair and taught the art of curly hair to stylists who traveled from across the country to learn Ouidad’s techniques. She brought that experience and her deep understanding of curls home to Albuquerque.
As the founder of Roots Salon, Sara personally trains every stylist on her team. Her approach starts with listening and getting to know the person in her chair, what their hair has been through, and what their daily life really looks like. Her true passion is helping each person love their curls and feel confident caring for and styling them at home. She believes the perfect style is not just about how you look when you leave the salon. It is about how confident you feel doing your own hair on a Wednesday morning.

Daniella knows firsthand what it means to finally let go of the straightener. After years of heat styling her own hair, she discovered her natural curl pattern and she's never looked back.

A proud New Mexico native, Samantha began her professional journey at the Aveda Institute, where she built a strong foundation in cutting and color. Her own curly-haired sister introduced her to Roots, and she quickly found her passion for helping others embrace their natural texture. Under Sara’s mentorship, Samantha has continued to grow her expertise in the art and science of curly hair, mastering advanced techniques that celebrate, enhance, and protect every curl.
